NEWS: First RAF A400M Atlas Delivered to Brize Norton

An important milestone for the RAF’s logistical force has been reached with the delivery of the first A400M Atlas for the RAF to RAF Brize Norton. The aircraft will develop the RAF’s ability to move people and equipment rapidly around the globe for military and humanitarian operations by combining the global range of the C-17 Globemaster with the rough landing ability of the C-130 Hercules. The A400M Atlas will be able to transport the growing family of 30 tonne protected mobility vehicles, including the recently ordered Scout fighting vehicle or Foxhound vehicles. It is also capable of carrying up to 116 armed forces personnel, including paratroopers.
