Godspeed Tim Peake

Former British Army helicopter pilot, Tim Peake, this morning blasted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on course for the International Space Station. He is the first British citizen to be selected as an astronaut by ESA. Peake began ESA’s intensive astronaut basic training course in September 2009 and graduated on 22 November 2010.

  1. Yes, Godspeed, Tim, and think of everybody who goes with you….Captain Cook, Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh, David Livingstone. You’ll see everything they spent lifetimes exploring in just an hour as you whizz round the Earth.
